[Product overview]
The Vent Filter we are introducing here is a waterproof, dustproof, and breathable membrane made in Taiwan that is made of PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene), a polymeric material. On the market, it is also called waterproof membrane, waterproof and breathable membrane, PTFE waterproof membrane, and PTFE waterproof and breathable membrane.
The PTFE membrane, which is a component of the vent filter, has a porous structure with micropores created by a special stretching process, and is breathable while blocking dust and water. By making it into a patch type with adhesive (basically, it is possible to combine adhesive with the outer periphery of one side of the vent filter), it can be attached to the housing surfaces of various products (such as plastic or metal surfaces with relatively smooth surfaces), and is useful, for example, for adjusting the internal pressure inside the housing caused by temperature differences and preventing condensation.
